P is for painting

Sometimes I get an itch to do something arty.  On this particular day we were painting things that started with 't'. It started off well enough... the boys were enjoying the process of painting while I encouraged them to try painting one of our 't' objects.

It's a tricky balancing act with these two. While Chick 2 is very much ready for school now so can handle more targeted activities. Chick 3 is still at the very sensory/exploratory stage - turn your attention away for a moment and he's doing something like this...

Eating the paintbrush... and painting his own hands.

I must admit, while it started well... I lost my rag when they started flicking the paint at each other and trying to swim on the page!!!

When we were learning about the 'p' sound, chick 2 helped find lots of things that started with this letter.

Over the last month or so, I've really started noticing a progression in his writing. It's lovely to see his eagerness to learn and try hard at something.
